The End is in Sight!

Okay, so today is my last day for official finals (I have one next Friday but it's not from the U of R, not going to talk about it, but just thought I'd make that clarification).

So because my final isn't until 2, let's leave a quick message about the thirty day music challenge!

Day six: a song that reminds you of somewhere.

Wow, there are so many to choose from, but I think I have to pick one of my most recent in memory. I've been to A LOT of places and have great memories at each, but I will choose this next song because it's really only the people that I met at this particular place that made me like the song. So, here is Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen reminding me of England where I met some of my dearest friends on exchange!

Don't worry I am aware it is UBER annoying and lame, but these people make it all worth while. Here's to you my lovelies!

Cheers!

Onwards!

Hey everyone!

Quick break from studying (yes, I've finally started).

Day five of the thirty day music challenge is a song that reminds you of someone.

As hot-and-cold as I am about Taylor Swift, I can't help but feel this song is my hunny and I. Sometimes I am a bit of a psycho and he tends to stick around with me anyway. It's annoyingly catchy, but my song for Day 5 is Stay Stay Stay by Taylor Swift.

Hopefully this is the actual song...

Anywho, I need to get back to studying. I'm currently reviewing excitatory and inhibitory postsynaptic potentials... SO EXCITING! (Not.)

Catch ya later, Cool Cats!

Cheers!

XOXO

A Reflection on Final Exams and Day Four

So it is the examination period at my university and the strangest thing has happened to me.

I'm calm.

Now this calmness is not to be confused with apathy, but as a very high maintenance person and a worrier about EVERYTHING this is possible the strangest feeling I've had in my life. I tend to worry and stress about studying leading up to the finals and then when I finally sit down to write them I am calm. Well as it stands right now I am calm as a cucumber, and I'm not generally one who is prone to test anxiety, so let us hope that this is not a reversal and I shall be happy. So here I am, two days before I write my first two finals, and three days before my last final writing a blog in between studying my two subjects (one is an open book final with a cheat sheet so I will NOT bet studying for that, the studying is the cheat sheet in essence) not worrying.

So rather than ruminate on that (sorry, I was just studying about depression and the role of the amygdala in negative emotions), we'll get on to day four of the music challenge.

Day four: A song that makes you sad

This one is actually a tough one. Don't get me wrong, I realize there are sad songs out there, but I tend to associate those sad songs with the good feelings of release and acceptance. If I had to pick a single song that I think is the saddest, I don't think I could do it, so today it's a tie. The two saddest songs for me personally are Moon River by Frank Sinatra (sorry original fans, I just prefer his version) and In My Life by the Beatles. Moon River I associate with my Grandfather's funeral, and while I associate In My Life with that as well, I tend to associate it more with the different stages of my life and the things that I have had to leave behind.

So, what do you think, do these two songs make you sad? What is the song that makes you sad? If you don't have one, what is the saddest song you have ever heard?

Cheers!

XOXO

P.S. Sorry if these videos suck, I did not check them out beforehand this time as I usually do, so apologies!

Oopsie-Doodle!

Okay, so it's been a while and my commitment to this blog is clearly lacking... No I'm not cheating on it, I'm just not putting as much effort as is needed for a stable relationship. Fear not, I'm working on it!

I've just been inspired by this amazingly cutesy blog I found through pinterest called Stars for Streetlights. I absolutely adored it! Now while I realize she has her own domain, this little ol' blog here should keep me entertained until I can get myself a domain and figure out the graphics (fingers crossed maybe I can get in touch with the creator of the blog and she can give me some pointers, wouldn't that be lovely?! Uhm, the answer is clearly yes here).

So onto day three of the thirty days of music! Today is just a short post because finals are this week and next week and so whatever I can manage to pump out for the blog's sake I will try my best to do!

Day three: A song that makes you happy.

The me who started this thirty day music challenge definitely would've picked something out by Ed Sheeran, absolutely no question in my mind. That being said this morning I shared a wonderful piece of music that has become big on Canadian radio with my boyfriend. Our morning routine (when we are together) is to say "Good morning, Handsome" (me to him) and "Good morning, Beautiful" (him to me). We also say good night in the same way. So today, the song that makes me happy is none other than Good Morning Beautiful by Luke McMaster.

Please suffer through the beginning talking crappy bit... The song is catchy and upbeat and if you don't like it, you soon will! :)

Cheers!

XOXO

No Review, Onto Day 2!

So no "Red" review just yet, sorry guys.

I'm hoping to get to it today (I know, I sound like a broken record) because yesterday I did way too much procrastinating and not enough work.

Day two of the 30 day music challenge is on though, so let's see what's in store for today!!

Day two: your least favourite song.

Wow, okay, so this one is a toughie. Originally I would have said "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen, but I had THE most rocking flatmates every last semester and we owned that song and made it our own. Due to the good memories associated with that, I can't pick it. This is a REALLY tough one for me, guys. You usually think you know what you don't like, but you always think, "Is there something I hate more??!" That's the process I am going through right now.

Okay, I think I have something! The first time this song came out, I professed that I could create a single in the same way, but using the word "dog" instead. I have never, nor will I ever be, a Bieber fan, even if we are both Canadian. Today's song, clocking in at least favourite song is "Baby" by Justin Bieber.

No hating, by the way! Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Feel free to drop yours in the comments below!

Cheers!

xoxo
